Danceworld was established 22 years ago in Ballina, Co. Mayo under the founder and creative director Áine Egan, who started Danceworld with a passion for dance and the arts and developed her passion into a successful business. From its humble beginnings, it has grown from strength to strength, establishing itself with schools located across the county with classes in Ballina, Belmullet, Castlebar, Claremorris, Cong and Westport.

Danceworld classes are designed to appeal to boys and girls from ages 4 and half years upwards with recreational classes running six days a week. In our syllabus, we educate our students in many genres of dance, ranging from different styles of hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre.

We are a non-competitive stage school, with no grading or exams. We pride ourselves on creating the best possible experience for our students to aid the growth of their self-confidence. For us, it is not only dancing. The development of a child's confidence at their own pace, is at the heart of what we do, while working towards our annual summer showcase, where every student has the equal opportunity to feel like a star on a stage of possibilities.

At Danceworld, our goal is to create a positive and happy experience for all our students. We are dedicated to fostering a fun and inspiring environment in which all students can feel happy, supported, comfortable and free to express themselves through movement.

Danceworld has a professional and encouraging approach with a high standard of teaching under the direction of Áine Egan, who believes “giving the students something to work towards is essential, resulting in our annual summer showcase.”

While dancing has many physical and health benefits; our aim is to achieve many educational elements also. We strive to instil creativity in children and teenagers and encourage an appreciation for the arts. We seek to strengthen our students communicative and social skills and improve their ability to work as part of a team.

Physical development is one of the most obvious benefits of dance for children. They learn a great range of motion, body awareness, balance, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance. Through Danceworld classes, students begin to understand that the possibilities of movement are endless and fun to explore while learning lifelong skills. As our motto goes;

It’s not just a movement...it's a way of life.
