WHAT WE OFFER
At Danceworld, we pride ourselves on creating the best possible experience
for our students to aid the growth of their self-confidence while learning different styles of dance in an age appropriate class environment which allows them to develop at their own pace. Our classes are designed to appeal to boys and girls from the age of 4 and a half years upwards.
Danceworld classes offer many benefits to our students, which extend beyond that of
simply teaching them dance. We aim to provide an environment where students can have fun while achieving social and personal development among a host of other benefits. It is the perfect way to develop co-ordination, communication and teamwork skills among many other personal benefits. Aside from the social benefits of learning to dance, the obvious ones are around health and wellbeing. Dance is a fantastic way to keep fit and to promote positive mental health. We have worked hard to develop an environment that is positive, fun, inspiring and encourages our students to be the best version of themselves.
We educate our students in many genres of dance including hip hop, musical theatre and contemporary. Below is a little more information on the different styles we teach.
Hip Hop
Hip-hop dance is a very popular and energetic style of dance. This unique and exciting style includes a wide variety of body actions designed to emphasise the rhythms of urban and hip-hop music. Through its three main styles of popping, locking, and breaking, combined with a variety of freestyle movements, this vibrant form of dance has evolved into one of the most popular and influential styles of dance among people all over the world. It is a fun way to stay fit, improve coordination, and learn musicality.

Danceworld enjoys teaching hip-hop dance because of its diversity and more laid-back style that allows dancers to move more freely, focusing on expressing themselves through their movement to music. With more upbeat music, hip-hop dance creates a different level of fun and creativity.
Contemporary
Contemporary dance is an expressive style of dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.  This style of dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet, however still focusing on elements of technique. Contemporary dancers often create characters, theatrical events, or stories, as they improvise in their own unique style while striving to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Contemporary dance can be performed to many different styles of music.
Danceworld enjoys teaching this style of dance as it allows students to explore their own feelings, expressions and imagination while still focusing on technique. As this is a modern style of dance and is ever changing, the possibilities and creativity are endless.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is a dance style that is alive and thriving due to the popularity of successful West End and Broadway shows like Hairspray, Mamma Mia and Hamilton. This genre of dance is less of a particular style, and more of a description of dancing that is rooted in the diverse history of musical productions. Musical theatre dances have a rich history that stretches into a knowledge of ballet, tap, and jazz styles of dance and place a high focus on musical interpretation, performed to catchy music in a popular style. With many of the classics being made and re-made into films, the future of musical theatre dance is as bright and shiny as the lights of Broadway.
We enjoy teaching this style of dance at Danceworld as it is immense fun and the students can portray different characters through the medium of dance and song. Musical theatre builds confidence in our students and allows the opportunity to integrate their other talents such as singing and acting into our musical dances.
