We have classes suitable for ages 5-18yrs. Students may join if they are 4yrs old turning 5yrs within 6 months of enrolling and in junior infants at school.
Our classes are extremely competitively priced and each class varies, depending on which class your child is placed in.
No, you can start at any point during the year (except when we are coming up to our shows) provided there are spaces available in the class.
Our classes are based on age rather than ability and your child will be placed in a class suitable for his/her age. Class divisions are made strictly by the class they attend at school (i.e. junior/senior infants, 1st class, 2nd class, etc.). Over time we have found that this is the best way to divide classes.
No experience is required to join any of our classes. We provide for students with all levels of experience in the performing arts.
Our age ranges for classes are:
- Junior and Senior Infants
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd class
- 4th, 5th & 6th class
- Teenagers
*This may vary in different locations.
Provided your child’s age and school class falls within the same bracket as his/her friend and there is space in the chosen class, we may be able to place friends in the same class. However, we cannot promise to accommodate friendship groups.
If the class is fully booked, your child can join a waiting list and we will contact you once a place becomes available.
For your child’s class they can wear any comfortable clothes, which they can move freely in, and runners or their Danceworld attire, which can be purchased through the Parent Portal (traditional look) or through the Malley Teamwear online shop.
To create uniformity we feel it is very important for students to have a part of the uniform. Having a uniform creates a sense of belonging and pride and it promotes school spirit. The t-shirt from the traditional look is the only compulsory item of the uniform. This can be ordered through the Parent Portal.
In order for all students to gain the optimal from their classes, we do not allow parents into the room during class time. We’re completely dedicated to the safety of our students and the quality Danceworld experience we offer, in a fun and nurturing environment. We invite parents/guardians into class a few times during the year for class viewings.
No, as we pride our Danceworld experience on confidence building and self-esteem without the element of competition or graded exams.
