  • At what age can my child join?
No experience is required to join any of our classes. We provide for students with all levels of experience in the performing arts.
  • How much are your dance classes?
Our classes are extremely competitively priced and each class varies, depending on which class your child is placed in.
  • Do we have to wait until a new term to join?
No, you can start at any point during the year except when we are in show term.
  • How are students placed in the appropriate class?
Our classes are based on age rather than ability and your child will be placed in a class suitable for his/her age. Class divisions are made strictly by the class they attend at school (i.e. junior/senior infants, 1st class, 2nd class, etc.). Over time we have found that this is the best way to divide classes.
  • Do students require previous experience?
No experience is required to join any of our classes. We provide for students with all levels of experience in the performing arts.
  • What are the age ranges for each class?
Our age ranges for classes are: - Preschool aged 4yrs and in their final year of preschool - Junior and Senior Infants - 1st, 2nd & 3rd class - 4th, 5th & 6th class - Teenagers
  • Can my child request to be in the same class as their friends?
Provided your child’s age and school class falls within the same bracket as his/her friend and there is space in the chosen class, we may be able to place friends in the same class. However, we cannot promise to accommodate friendship groups.
  • What happens if the class is fully booked?
If the class is fully booked, your child can join a waiting list and we will contact you once a place becomes available.
  • What does my child wear to classes?
For your child’s class they can wear any comfortable clothes, which they can move freely in, and runners or their Danceworld attire, which can be purchased when we place our order of uniforms.
  • Is the Danceworld uniform compulsory?
To create uniformity we feel it is very important for students to have a part of the uniform. Having a uniform creates a sense of belonging and pride and it promotes school spirit. The t-shirt is the only compulsory item of the uniform. We place two orders of our uniform per year.
  • Can parents/guardians watch the classes?
In order for all students to gain the optimal from their classes, we do not allow parents into the room during class time. We’re completely dedicated to the safety of our students and the quality Danceworld experience we offer, in a fun and nurturing environment. We invite parents/guardians into class a few times during the year for class viewings.
  • Do you do competitions and exams?
No, as we pride our Danceworld experience on confidence building and self-esteem without the element of competition or graded exams.
  • Does my child get to perform?
Yes, our students have the opportunity to perform in our annual end of year production which are held in theatres where they perform a collaboration of all their choreography and routines. The showcases are the biggest highlight of the year.
  • Are the performances compulsory?
No, our performances are not compulsory. However, our class content is aimed towards preparing for our annual summer showcase so all our students are encouraged to partake.
  • Does Danceworld supply costumes for the performances?
No, we do not supply costumes for the performances. Parents/students are required to source their own, but we try to keep cost to a minimum. We supply additional props at a small rental cost.
  • Do I need to purchase a ticket to watch my child's performance?
Yes, as our showcases are ticketed events with sound, lighting, costumes and props. We have adult and children ticket prices. Tickets can be purchased nearer to show date from the box office of each theatre.
  • Is there a membership fee?
No, there is no membership fee.
  • Do you offer refunds?
Term fees are non-refundable. Each class must be paid in full regardless of whether your child is in attendance. If for any reason we have to cancel a class, this will be honoured at a later date.
  • Do we have to pay insurance?
No, this is included in the term fee.
